The resolution of support for Israel passed on an overwhelming 412-10 margin.

Green voted no. Castro and Casar voted ‘present’ as House affirmed US support 412-10, with most holdouts condemning Hamas but concerned about Israel’s response.

“I voted to condemn the barbaric Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel and reaffirm America’s support for Israel. Fifteen Democrat extremists REFUSED to join us in condemning the indiscriminate killing of innocent Israelis,” Van Duyne, a Republican,The three Texans who didn’t support the resolution each condemned the barbarity of the Hamas sneak attack Oct. 7, in which hundreds of unarmed Israelis were murdered at a music festival and in their villages.

🧵 Immediately after the terrorist killings in Israel, I co-sponsored H.Res. 771. Today, I voted ‘present’ on the resolution — because while it rightly mourns the deaths of Israelis, it chooses not to recognize the thousands of Palestinian deaths since Oct. 7.Castro, in a statement entered into the Congressional Record, noted that he signed onto McCaul’s resolution “in the immediate aftermath of the horrific October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel by Hamas militants.

Green also distanced himself because the resolution didn’t reaffirm support for a two-state solution – a goal the hostilities have set back.
