Steam library — north of 60,000 games — for Steam Deck compatibility — and will certainly continue the process after the console launches. But if you’re just catching up with recent Steam Deck news, you might be wondering what “Steam Deck Verified” even means.
Basically, Valve is employing an army of QA testers to sit down and evaluate every single game on the Steam Deck. If it meets a certain set of criteria, it gets a shiny green “Verified” badge. “Verified” means that the game feels like a native experience; as it was designed with the console in mind. The four big requirements are:: The title should have full controller support, use appropriate controller input icons, and automatically bring up the on-screen keyboard when needed.
If a game doesn’t meet all of these requirements, but still delivers a playable experience, it will still earn a “Playable” badge .
