The USNS Comfort will be leaving New York City after Gov. Andrew Cuomo told President Trump during a meeting on Tuesday that it was no longer needed to treat coronavirus patients
In his daily briefing on Tuesday, Trump said he had asked Cuomo if the ship could depart and the governor agreed.
With New York’s coronavirus outbreak — by far the biggest in the nation — now growing at a slower rate, Cuomo confirmed that he told Trump the ship was no longer needed. . At Cuomo's urging, Trump agreed to convert the ship's space so that it could treat coronavirus patients.
