People are being urged to let their gardens grow 'wild'
Anyone looking to spend this bank holiday hunkering down in the garden have been warned to put off one common chore.
Pollinators - animals that help fertilise plants as they move from flower to flower - have disappeared in alarming numbers with 60 percent disappearing in the UK over the past 20 years. "People are being urged to play their part in helping Britain’s bees and other wildlife by allowing their gardens to grow a bit wilder, with a few wildflowers or ‘weeds’ and long grass patches."
