Burnley Road is currently closed between Dunkenhalgh Way and the Hare and Hounds Pub. Emergency services are at the scene. As a result of the closure, there is heavy traffic in the area. There are unconfirmed reports on social media of a 'bomb scare'.Traffic monitoring website, INRIX, said: "A678 Burnley Road in both directions closed, heavy traffic due to police incident between A6185 Dunkenhalgh Way and the Hare and Hounds Pub."
