The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has announced another arrest in the mass shooting that happened at a Sweet 16 birthday party in Dadeville.Thursday afternoon, ALEA announced that 19-year-old Willie George Brown, Jr., of Auburn, was arrested and charged with four counts of reckless murder.. Earlier today, 20-year-old Johnny Letron Brown, of Tuskegee, was also arrested and formally charged with four counts of reckless murder. This brings total number of people arrested to five.
The party was being held for Alexis Dowdell, whose older brother Phil Dowdell was one of the four people killed. There were about 50 people at the party. District Attorney Mike Segrest said four people are still in critical condition and that additional charges would be filed against the suspects. ALEA spokesperson Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said he couldn’t discuss a possible motive for the shooting or whether there is a connection between the suspects and the victims.
