A 23-year-old man was dead and four others wounded late Sunday night in a targeted shooting in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood.
SF Police Investigations Deputy Chief Raj Vaswani posted on Twitter that the shooting took place at around 11 p.m. near the busy Columbus and Broadway intersection near the famed Condor Club.
Axel Sang, a marketing director for the iconic Condor Club, said staff at their venue helped one of the shooting victims. "My first reaction was that this was just another black eye for San Francisco and that worried me just a little bit," he said."Luckily, we have not had a lot of violence in North Beach. It really has been very good since well before the pandemic."
However, police later sent out an update noting that officers found two additional shooting victims nearby, both 24-year-old males from Sacramento County. Those two victims were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
