The National Weather Service has increased its snow total forecasts for a fierce winter storm expected to hit New Jersey starting Friday night.

The warning runs from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday for Atlantic, Cape May, eastern Burlington, Monmouth and Ocean counties. Up to 50 mph winds are also possible in those areas, the weather service said.

Wind gusts reaching 35-50 mph are possible along with tidal flooding and wind chills “well below” zero Saturday night, according to forecasts.
