Unspun Unveils New 3D Weaving Machine For The Sustainable Microfactory Of The Future
A waste-free 3D weaving microfactory soon bring on-demand custom fitted clothing to a neighborhood near you.For all the excitement over huge gigafactories churning out millions of solar panels, electric vehicles and other clean tech items, the future of sustainable manufacturing could belong to the microfactory model.
“Each year millions of tonnes of clothes are produced, worn, and thrown away,” notes the non-profit organization Ellen MacArthur Foundation. “Every second, the equivalent of a rubbish truck load of clothes is burnt or buried in landfill.”entering our oceans. To solve the problem, we must reinvent fashion itself,” they add.
