Water bottle stations have been set up
Residents in Morecambe will face the next 24 hours without water after recent effects of freezing temperatures prompted emergency works.
Tonight United Utilities teams say they will shut off access to water in homes to help meet the demand of their customers. Experts say the impact of the freeze and now thaw has been affecting water supply in the area. Customers have reported experiencing no water or poor pressure as a result of increased demand for water and multiple bursts and leaks at customer properties and on the water network. In order to refill reservoirs which provide water to homes and businesses United Utilities say they will need to turn off water supply for the next 24 hours.United Utilities add that customers can expect this to happen within the next hour onwards.
Those without water for the next 24 hour period will be able to collect bottled water from various stations set up by the company. United Utilities have established bottled water stations in these locations:A third station will also be open from 5-30pm until 9pm at:A spokesperson for United Utilities has said: "Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this will obviously cause you.
