Defending champion Corona Centennial started Southern Section Open Division pool play with a 68-63 home triumph over Bronny James and Sierra Canyon.The Eagles had no problems in their Open Division debut. Kennedy Smith had 33 points and 13 rebounds and Aliyahna Morris added 18 points.The Monarchs won their Open Division pool B opener. Jenessa Cotton scored 18 points and Shaena Brew had 14 points. Skye Belker scored 19 points for Windward.
Madi Bogan’s 17 points led the Lancers. Orange Lutheran will face Harvard-Westlake in the quarterfinals.
