Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the war in Ukraine must end 'as soon as possible' to guarantee the security of food supplies across the Black Sea. Latest on the war in Ukraine:

Updates from Sky News correspondents Alistair Bunkall in Dnipro and Stuart Ramsay in eastern Ukraine. Live reporting from Bhvishya Patel'I wish it could be different but God will be the one to judge me,' says captured British fighter

In a statement on Twitter, Mykhailo Podolyak said:"Attempts to 'legalise' occupied territories must receive a harsh sanctions response. Earlier this week, Mr Podolyak vowed that Kyiv would retake all the lands currently under Russian control and urged Ukrainians to be patient. He said:"This disgusting Soviet-era style show trial is the latest reminder of the depravity of Putin's regime."Contrary to the Kremlin's propaganda, Aiden Aslin is not a mercenary. He has been living in Ukraine and serving in its armed forces before Russia's illegal invasion and as a prisoner of war is entitled to protection under the Geneva Convention.

He decided to change his life and joined the Ukrainian army, soon rising through the ranks to section commander of his unit just six months after joining up. Meanwhile Mr Aslin, who goes by the name"Johnny" in Ramsay's report, told Sky News that people thought he was crazy for signing up to fight and argued he should not even be Ukraine.

"You'll know that under the Geneva Convention, prisoners of war are entitled to combatant immunity, and they should not be prosecuted for participation in hostilities. He said Russian troops are starting to make"steady progress" along the eastern flank and were"stepping up" their propaganda campaign against Ukraine, with troops in the area starting to receive text messages"designed to lower Ukrainian morale".

Now, Ukrainian commander Petro Kuzyk has described how his troops are fighting"for every house and every street" in the region.
