The University of Houston was rewarded for one of the best regular seasons in school history Sunday as the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Regional.
The Cougars will open the NCAA Tournament on Thursday against No. 16 seed Northern Kentucky in Birmingham, Ala. This is the second time UH has been a No. 1 seed. The last time was 1983 when the Cougars advanced to the national championship game against North Carolina State.
