The University of Houston continued its recruiting push Monday, landing a 2024 pledge from DeSoto offensive lineman Ronnell McLain Jr.
McLain, a 6-4, 310-pound left tackle, had previously been committed to North Texas. He is listed as a three-star prospect, according to recruiting website 247Sports. UH has received five commitments in the last week for the class of the 2024: Shadow Creek safety Maurice Williams Jr., Angleton safety Jaden Pettway, North Shore tight end Kaleb Thomas and Austin Westlake wide receiver Heath McRee. Shadow Creek edge rusher Zion Taylor was UH's first commitment in January.
