But while Mokaev dealt out his share of punishment Saturday in his third-round submission victory over Jafel Filho on the preliminary card of UFC 286 at the sold-out O2 Arena in London, England, it was his toughness that had everyone talking when it was over. Filho caught Mokaev in a kneebar in the third round and appeared to have it locked in deep. The grimace on Mokaev’s face told a lot of the story. The logical move at that point would have been to tap so as not to sustain a serious injury to his left knee.
