The U.S. has moved to stop the release of an Iranian tanker impounded by Gibraltar in July
LONDON—The U.S. Department of Justice has made an application in Gibraltar’s Supreme Court to seize an Iranian tanker the British overseas territory was about to release after a six-week detention, a spokesman for Gibraltar’s government said.
The court, which started hearing the matter of the tanker’s detention early Thursday, has delayed its decision to later in the day, he said.
