Breaking news: U.S. to ask Supreme Court to restore full access to abortion pill after an appeals court upheld restrictions

At that time, the FDA approved the use of the pill until 10 weeks of pregnancy instead of seven weeks. The agency also allowed health care providers other than doctors to prescribe mifepristone and removed the requirement that patients pick up the pill in person. The appeals court order temporarily puts those restrictions back in place.
“We are furious that yet another court would choose to jeopardize the health and futures of the millions of people who rely on mifepristone for abortion care," Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Alexis McGill Johnson said in a statement. “The federal judiciary has — for the second time this week — rejected science and the law.
