U.S. economic data remains mixed, which was a big point of contention during the Fed decision: While trade tensions have started to weigh on business investment and manufacturing, layoffs remain at low levels. Strong consumer spending has helped drive the economy, but investors are beginning to worry whether that will be negatively impacted by slowing job growth.
