Among FTSE 100 constituents, residential building construction company Persimmon PLC PSN, +2.26% saw the largest increase Wednesday, as shares increased 2.26%.
Taylor Wimpey PLC TW, +1.95%, a residential building construction company, and aerospace products/parts firm Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC RR, +1.83% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rallied 1.95% and 1.83%, respectively. Shares of wired telecommunications services firm BT Group PLC BT.A, -1.64% and electric utilities company SSE PLC SSE, -1.24% shed 1.64% and 1.24%, respectively.
The pound was up 0.64% against dollar GBPUSD, +0.61% at $1.2724 and 0.21% against the euro GBPEUR, +0.21% at €1.1645.
