Two suspects in a Jefferson County shooting are in custody for investigation of first-degree murder, according to a news release.
Jessie Vargas-Vigil, 21, and Gemini Garcia, 20, are being held in connection to an Oct. 12 shooting in the 3600 block of South Depew Street, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Both suspects are also under investigation for second-degree murder and aggravated robbery, according to the sheriff’s office.who had been shotTwo men, near the truck at the time of the shooting, ran south from the lot between two apartment buildings and were recorded on camera getting into a gold Chevrolet truck, which already had a driver behind the wheel. Local law enforcement found the Chevy truck in the 2400 block of West 29th Avenue, Denver, and the driver was taken into custody.
Garcia is being held at the Jefferson County Jail and Vargas-Vigil at the downtown jail in Denver. Vargas-Vigil is also under investigation for second-degree assault of a Denver police officer during his arrest on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office. The Denver officer suffered a separated shoulder and other minor injuries.
