In what can only be described as Julie-ception, strangers Julie Mamo and Julie Ansell have finally met after discovering they were actually long-lost sisters 👭 Their family now calls them Julie 1 and Julie 2 to avoid confusion.
Two strangers in their 60s – both called Julie – have met up for the first time after discovering they wereJulie Mamo, 66, and Julie Ansell, 64, now called Julie 1 and Julie 2 by the family, were living on either side of the world, with no knowledge of each other.
At nine days old, she was adopted by a family who emigrated to Australia and she has lived there ever since.Ms Ansell, who now lives in St Margaret’s Bay, Kent, recalled that when she was 12 her mum told her she had once given a baby up for adoption. The results brought up his two sisters as matches of around 70%, and remarkably Ms Mamo, unknown to him at the time, as his strongest match of more than 90%.
They soon realised how much they had in common, from eating spiders and Vicks Vaporub as children to hobbies such as making wooden crafts.The Julies headed back to the UK together so Ms Mamo could meet her new family, as well as her wider adopted family based in Kent who she hadn’t seen for 45 years.
