San Francisco experienced a record-breaking amount of rainfall over the weekend, and more is on the way.

The region is forecast to experience two additional rounds of rainfall in the next five days, “which is fantastic,” said Mehle. The first round is expected to arrive in San Francisco late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning into the afternoon, with the heaviest rainfall totals reaching an estimated quarter inch to a half inch over the North Bay. San Francisco, the East Bay and the South Bay will likely see a few hundredths of an inch to a quarter of an inch of rain.

“It won’t be a big soaker, but additional rainfall nonetheless,” said Mehle, noting that warmer temperatures, which will reach the high 60s and low 70s for most of the region on Monday, will start to take a dip as well. “The Bay Area will see a wet morning commute on Tuesday.”“It looks like the biggest one of the week, with heavier rainfall arriving Wednesday night into Thursday for the Bay Area,” said Mehle.
