The assault happened just before 4am on Sunday morning.
Two men, aged 21 and 23, were attacked on November 27, at around 3.45am. The incident happened on West Regent Street, with the attacker running west.
Officers are now looking to trace the man, who has been described as in his 20s, 5 foot 10 inches tall, of a medium build with brown hair and clean shaved. He was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, dark jacket and black jeans. Detective Constable Matthew McCann of CID in Glasgow said: “This has been an unprovoked attack on two men within Glasgow city centre.
“The 21-year-old victim was taken to hospital as a result of this assault and required treatment.
