This is the second consecutive fight Paul has been forced to find a late-replacement opponent for because Tommy Fury withdrew, whose dad is the former unified heavyweight world champion who knocked out Lennox Lewis in 2001.
Paul has built his 5-0 record by beating fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, NBA player Nate Robinson and MMA fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley – who he beat twice. “I’ve wanted this fight ever since Hasim ran his big mouth to me 2 years ago in the gym. My brother and manager didn’t want me to take this fight. They said it was too much risk,” Paul wrote on social media.
Paul, who has often been dismissed by ‘real’ fighters, has finally been given a little bit of credit by two very respected members of the combat sports fraternity – Carl Frampton and Michael Bisping.
