Two people were reported dead as a result of a recent 6.4-magnitude earthquake in California.
The deaths were attributed to a"medical emergency" occurring around the time of the earthquake that shook the state early on Tuesday, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office told ABC10. The relation between the medical emergency and the earthquake is currently unknown, but the two deaths are the first to be attributed to the disaster. An additional 11 injuries were reported as well.

In addition to the casualties, the disaster wreaked havoc upon the area's infrastructure as well. Poweroutage.us reported that 67,777 Humboldt residents were left without power as of 4:30 P.M.
