In the fall of 2023, Columbus Classical Academy, a private school, and a charter 'classical education' school plan to open in the Columbus area.
The mothers appeared on a podcast and criticized Columbus Academy leaders about critical race theory in schools. Columbus Academy responded in a statement that the two parents had “waged a public campaign of false and misleading statements and inflammatory attacks” against the school and its employees.
Columbus Academy will begin as a K-8 school, but add a class annually until it reaches K-12. Heart of Ohio Classical Academy will start K-5 and add a class annually. HOCA does not yet have a headmaster.
