Two suspects aged 15 and 17 are in custody
Two schoolboys were attacked by knife-wielding thugs outside a school. The pair were assaulted in Swinton yesterday afternoon.
Police were alerted just after 3.30pm yesterday to reports of a stabbing on Manchester Road, Wardley close to St Ambrose Barlowe RC High School, where pupils queue for buses at end of lessons. But neither the victims or the suspects were pupils at the school. GMP has arrested two suspects who remain in custody. In a statement to local councillors a local GMP officer said: "Whilst this is a concerning incident, due to the quick and effective investigation response by Swinton CID, both suspsects were arrested and remain n custody.
In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at around 3.35pm yesterday to a report of a suspected stabbing on Manchester Road, Worsley. Officers attended and established two 14-year-old boys were targeted – one was injured.
