Tuscaloosa police said the two teens died Saturday when the Tesla in which they were traveling in crashed with a semi at Skyland Boulevard East and Interstate 20/59 about 1:50 a.m.

Madison Sims and Samuel Brown attended the Paul W. Bryant High School prom together on Friday night. They died in a traffic accident early Saturday, April 15, 2023. The two teenagers who died in a traffic accident early Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa had attended the Paul W. Bryant High School prom together.

A family member of one of the teens, Samuel Brown, confirmed he and Madison Sims were the victims in the accident. A Facebook post by the Perry County school system also identified the teens.Samuel Brown, 18, attended R.C. Hatch High School in Uniontown in Perry County. He played football for R.C. Hatch. “To say we will miss him would be an understatement,” Hatch High School posted on Facebook.

The Tesla was pinned underneath the truck’s trailer and the vehicle’s four occupants were trapped, police said. Sims was the driver and Brown the front-seat passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.An 18-year-old female from Montgomery was transported to UAB Hospital with serious injuries, police said, and a 17-year-old female from Marion was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa with minor injuries.If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
