The vice president said at the time:"The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed." “We’re going to have 2 million people cross this border for the first time ever,” interviewer Chuck Todd responded. “You’re confident this border’s secure?”
“We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration,” Harris said. “But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years.”A busload of Venezuelan and Nicaraguan immigrants was dropped off outside of the vice presidential residence in Washington on Saturday after making its way from Texas. This comes after 101 additional immigrants were dropped off on Thursday.
