Mel-O-Dee, a hole in the wall (almost literally) behind a suburban Trader Joe’s, might be the most raucous karaoke bar in the Bay Area.
The experience was thrilling, but be warned: Karaoke at Mel-O-Dee is so popular that wait times to sing can easily exceed two hours.
There’s no karaoke app at Mel-O-Dee. Instead, Cavizo keeps all the available song titles in a binder that patrons select from. With so many songs added over the years, including recent additions like “Shallow" and “Despacito,” the binder has swelled to Bible-esque size.
