The G20 meeting takes place in Japan on June 28 and 29. U.S. President Donald Trump said on June 18 that he will meet Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping while the two are there. Trade talks between the two countries were put on hold in May after U.S. officials accused China of backtracking on certain pledges.
So far, U.S. tariffs have been imposed on about $250 billion in Chinese goods. The U.S. Trade Representative Office is considering imposing import taxes on another $300 billion of Chinese products.
