Opinion: Trump indictment: Letters
The two opinion articles June 18 from Susan Shelley and Andrew Napolitano highlight the problem with a Biden/Garland appointment of a special counsel. History will describe the two-tiered preferential treatment toward politicians depending on which party has ultimate ruling power. Past presidents and high-powered political figures have been able to avoid prosecution for as long as I can recall in my 68 years of living for the stupid things they do while serving in office.
The laws that have been in place under the Constitution are always being manipulated by both main parties. The big problem facing the U.S. citizens today is: How do we move past Biden and Trump and start a path to restoration of our democracy in the nation? Whichever direction voters take in 2024 will determine the future of America for decades that follow.Re “What really went wrong with the EDD” :
A very well-written and informative editorial; I’m sure your readers got a lot of great takeaways from it. When Jennifer Pahika was hired by Governor Newsom to “lead a strike force to uncover the cause of the problem that payments were delayed to millions of workers,” I wish she would have also publicly disclosed that some of the $32 billion of our taxpayer money was sent to prisoners in jail.
