Experts do not expect the criminal trial of former President Donald Trump to begin in August, given the time needed to resolve legal issues beforehand.

A Florida federal judge scheduled the criminal trial of former President Donald Trump for his alleged illegal retention of classified government documents to begin Aug. 14.Trump, who is seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, was indicted this month on more than three dozen criminal charges related to keeping hundreds of classified records after leaving the White House in January 2021.

For that reason, the experts said, the nuclear document is unique among the 31 in the indictment because the declassification of the others is governed by executive order.
