Trump calls on Fed to adopt quantitative easing after jobs report

Before departing for a trip to the southern border, President Donald Trump on Friday called for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates and switch from quantitative tightening to quantitative easing. Trump has previously criticized the Fed's winding down of its balance sheet, though it may be his first call for the central bank to actually start buying bonds. "Despite that, we're doing very well," he said, after the Labor Department reported 196,000 new jobs created in March.
