People will have until Dec. 18 to sign up for health coverage on the federal Affordable Care Act exchange, an extension of three days, after some experienced problems using the website

The deadline is being extended three days, to Dec. 18, after some consumers said they experienced internal error messages, difficulties updating passwords, long waits on hold at the call center, and an inability to load the healthcare.
