The force of the crash threw the 18-year-old Amish girl from the buggy, authorities say.
GETTYSBURG, Ohio — An 18-year-old Amish girl was thrown from her buggy Tuesday morning when it was struck by a straight truck from behind.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 37-year-old man from Lynn, Indiana, was driving the truck east on U.S. 36 just before 9 a.m. when he collided with the horse and buggy being driven by Beth Burns of Bradford. Burns was thrown from the buggy when it rolled into a ditch.
