In a major development, it was discovered in “Iron Tiger” that not only is Troy’s group protecting children, but he also has a daughter he’s been looking after. It would seem that this new, unseen character plays a key role in Fear the Walking Dead season 8 part 2’s story.
As for where Tracy is now, that remains to be seen. Tracy’s life was put at risk offscreen when Charlie brought the tanker to Troy’s compound in “Iron Tiger.” Based on what one of the children told Troy toward the end of the episode, she was curious about the truck and approached it prior to the explosion. Had she been too close, she would have been killed, but her body wasn’t found nearby or inside the tanker.

Madison never encountered Troy between Fear the Walking Dead season 3’s ending and the beginning of season 8’s back half, yet Troy is convinced that what happened to her is Madison’s fault. Earlier in the episode, Madison realized that Troy’s hatred of her had to go deeper than the fact that she bludgeoned him with a hammer and left him for dead.
