Tropical Storm Fred is weakening and spreading heavy rainfall into parts of the Southeast, latest info here:
less than an hour agoFred will will spread heavy rain into the Southeast and mid-Atlantic.Tropical Storm Fred is moving inland and is bringing threats of flooding rain and isolated tornadoes. Soaking rainfall and possible flooding from Fred and its remnant will spread inland across parts of Alabama, Georgia, the western Carolinas and mid-Atlantic region.
Winds gusted 50 to 65 mph along parts of the Florida Panhandle coast Monday. A gust to 68 mph was observed Monday afternoon at the Apalachicola Airport and gusts over 70 mph were reported near the Gulf Coast. Fred made landfall near Cape San Blas, Florida, at 2:15 p.m. CDT Monday with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.
