Lancashire police, paramedics, air ambulance and mountain rescue personnel all arrived on the scene near Chorley
A man has died after suffering from cardiac arrest on a Lancashire summit despite the best efforts from medics and members of the public to save him.
Personnel from North West Ambulance Service contacted the North West Air Ambulance Service and the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team for immediate assistance given the difficult terrain.Mountain rescuers were on the scene at around 8.50am where they met with air ambulance personnel. Before their arrival, two members of the public had started CPR.
A full statement from Bolton Mountain Rescue Team said: "At 08:29 this morning the team were contacted by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust who were requesting our assistance at an incident at Rivington Pike, following a 999 call regarding a male reported to be in cardiac arrest.
