Police say they will add more resources and work with neighbors, businesses and city officials to find the root of the problem.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police are putting an even bigger focus on three crime “hot spots” in the city, with a strategy that uses more resources and more community engagement.

TPD started developing and implementing the strategy—known as Place Network Investigations —early this year.Lieutenant Lissette Gomez took over the project lead at the 22nd and Prudence location about a month ago. She says that location in particular not only sees more crime, but more gun crime and gun violence.

“Enforcement alone is not gonna solve this problem,” she said. “It’s everybody working together, education, and coming together to fix it.”
