The ALSDVA has announced a town hall meeting on suicide prevention and mental health on Sept. 28 in Huntsville. The event is part of an initiative which aims to overcome the stigma associated with mental illness.

Guests at the town hall will include Redstone Arsenal Garrison Commander Col. Brian Cozine. The co-chairs of Alabama’s Challenge, retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paulette Risher and retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Kent Davis, will provide an overview of the statewide initiative. Davis is commissioner of the ADVA.
“We are thrilled to have the City of Huntsville, Redstone Arsenal, and the veterans community join the Partners of Alabama’s Challenge to have this important discussion and event,” Davis said in a press release.
