Compulsory travel permits for international visitors will impact Northern Ireland hotels, Tourism Ireland's chief executive has warned

He believes if they are introduced it could mean some tour operators will consider having their guests stay overnight in the Republic of Ireland rather than bringing them to Northern Ireland. "The best outcome is that it doesn't apply to Northern Ireland, but at a minimum you want some kind of visa-waver allowable for a certain number of days that would take care of a lot of business."Mr Gibbons said the feedback so far indicates that some operators will opt out of the Northern Ireland market.
