Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi joins other employees in ringing the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange on May 10 in New York City.A month after a shaky public debut, Uber is parting ways with two of its top leaders. On Friday, the company announced that its chief operating officer, Barney Harford, and chief marketing officer, Rebecca Messina, are both stepping down from the company.
Both Harford and Messina were hired directly by Khosrowshahi to fill roles that had long been left open by Uber. Its former CEO, Travis Kalanick,His tenure, though, wasn't smooth. In July 2018, Harford wasof making racially insensitive remarks and an internal review was launched. The investigation was closed after it found no evidence of discrimination, but Harford has remained largely out of the spotlight since then.
