The girl was rushed to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus and was declared dead at the hospital. Shurkin had driven her daughter to day care that morning but the toddler didn't want to go in, according to The mom then reportedly drove her back home, a law enforcement source shared. There was allegedly a miscommunication between the girl's parents as to who was supposed to bring her inside from the car, resulting in her being left for around two and a half hours.

The temperature on the day that Shurkin's daughter died was in the 60s and 70s, but although that might seem low, it was just warm enough inside the car to cause the fatal damage.KidsAndCars.org
