Todd Rundgren on the future of virtual touring, even after restrictions lift
Top of Rundgren's list now is an all-star remake of"Just One Victory," the album closing anthem from 1973'sSlated to be offered for free use for Democratic candidates during the 2020 campaign, it will feature Daryl Hall, Joe Walsh, Paul Shaffer and Don Was, with more joining on a daily basis -- which Rundgren does not find surprising.
Rundgren is planning to announce a full list of participants in a month; He's hoping Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who's cited it as a favorite, will be part of the project as well. The finished track will be ready for use after the primary election season."We didn't want candidates using it against each other; We very specifically want to defeat Republican candidates," Rundgren says.
While he's working on"Just One Victory" Rundgren is"pretty far along" on his next album, which will be a collaborative effort along the lines of 2017's. He's already recorded tracks with Rivers Cuomo from Weezer, Steve Vai, Thomas Dolby, Sparks and Adrian Belew.
