Tinder parent Match Group says that its brands will exit Russia by June 30.
Tinder parent company Match Group Inc. announced Tuesday that its brands are exiting Russia, citing human rights concerns.
“We are committed to protecting human rights,” Match MTCH said in the company’s annual impact report. “Our brands are taking steps to restrict access to their services in Russia and will complete their withdrawal from the Russian market by June 30, 2023.” In 2019, Russia demanded that Tinder and other apps hand over user data to the country’s intelligence services. At the time, a Tinder spokesman told MarketWatch that no data had been handed over to the Russian authorities.
