Rain coats at the ready, Glasgow
Glasgow is set to see dreich weather conditions during the UCI Cycling World Championships, according to forecasters.
Set to stay cold for much of the day, the rain will continue to fall with it getting heavier as the day goes on.Then, at around 11am, thunder and lightning is set to dampen Glasgow even more. It will last a few hours with it set to stop at 2pm. During this period, a number of cycling events will be taking place. According to the BBC's television schedule for the UCI Cycling World Championships, the junior women's road race will be shown from 9:45am until 12:35pm followed by the men's and women's downhill mountain bike finals. This event is shown from 1:15pm until 4:45pm.
Their warning comes as thousands of athletes are due to compete in the sporting event which is said to be the biggest cyclist event in history will take place in the city.
