Police say officers were called to 'an incident involving violent disorder'
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and were being quizzed by detectives today following reports a shopkeeper was attacked inside a store on a busy main road.
Images taken at the scene - on Halliwell Road in the town - showed two police cars parked up across the road in the aftermath of the incident.READ MORE:Cell of tragic prisoner who 'couldn't breathe' had no fresh air, family claims It's understood the shopkeeper said to be involved was injured, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.The force said all three remained in police custody today - Tuesday - for questioning. Police are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone with any information, to come forward. All three men were arrested at the scene, with officers called to Halliwell Road at 6pm.
