At the first North Texas March for Life since the Supreme Court overturned of Roe vs. Wade, abortion-rights opponents cheered and rallied in downtown Dallas...

At the rally, Bishop Edward Burns of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas prayed for women in need of assistance and to “further advance the gospel of life,” while speakers shared their desire to see an end to medical abortions, to further support women and to oppose politics that support abortion access.

Following the overturning of Roe, youth are stepping up to support women and offer resources to families, said Erin Quinn, with Students for Life of AmericaQuinn told the crowd that while there are restricted abortion laws, abortions are still happening and the battle has shifted to abortions performed with medication.

She noted several political moves toward legalized abortions, including actions by President Joe Biden and the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide abortions to veterans and their beneficiaries in certain cases, including“Roe is not dead,” Wright said. “And I’m sorry to be the one to break that to you. It’s on life support, but abortion zealots, along with the Biden administration and majority of Congress even, are working hard to revive — even expand — Roe’s deadly legacy.

She said she was “disheartened” not to see many families at other events, and decided to start bringing her children along. On the way to the event, she said, she told her children that abortion’s legality is not the issue.
