New concept art from ThorLoveAndThunder shows where Jeff Goldblum might've appeared as The Grandmaster had he not been cut from the film.

A new piece of concept art from Thor: Love and Thunder reveals a deleted scene featuring Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster. Taika Waititi's latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was Chris Hemsworth's fourth solo movie as the God of Thunder and served as a sequel to Thor: Ragnarok. It brought back fan-favorite characters like Valkyrie and Korg , and further expanded their characters' arcs while delivering more Ragnarok-esque humor.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY One of the characters initially slated to reprise their Ragnarok role was Goldblum as The Grandmaster. His sleazy alien being was left alive at the end of Thor: Ragnarok, and Goldblum filmed at least one scene for Love and Thunder. However, not long before the movie premiered, Goldblum confirmed that he would not appear in Thor: Love and Thunder's final cut during a press tour for Jurassic World Dominion.

The art sees The Grandmaster in a Sakaarian spacecraft, with an odd-looking handyman in the front part of the picture. Korg's head is also shown, meaning the deleted scene likely would've taken place after Hemsworth's Thor stole Zeus' thunderbolt.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Laurent Ben-Mimoun The Thor: Love and Thunder concept art has an interesting caption, titled "moon of shame." It's unclear what it exactly means, but it's not surprising that The Grandmaster would be in a Sakaarian spacecraft. He could be trying to reclaim Sakaar after being overthrown by his subjects at the end of Thor: Ragnarok.

The scene might have also involved Zeus' Thunderbolt, possibly with Thor exchanging the thunderbolt for Korg. The Grandmaster might have needed Zeus' thunderbolt to successfully regain control of Sakaar, and it might have been one of the few ways that the character could've properly been integrated in the sequel.
